White House emerges from $86m two-year makeover… but it doesn’t look like anything has actually changed

It has taken nearly two years, and $86 million but the West Wing of the White House has finally emerged from behind the gravel and scaffolding and the result is – nothing much.
Two years remain of the project, landing the White House administration with a total bill of over $376 million, but the next phase has yet to be determined.
The current outcome of the construction project, which began in September 2010, is visually anticlimactic, however what lies beneath the surface remains shrouded in mystery.
A year ago White House officials said it was an ‘overdue upgrade of underground facilities’ including the sewage system, but rumours said the big hole in the ground was in fact the construction of an underground tunnel.
Witnesses have said the project involved a sprawling, multistory structure whose underground assembly required truckload after truckload of heavy-duty concrete and steel beams.

His male siblings lived to an average age of 76 (another 18 years), his father lived to 68 and his mother 95.
Four of his siblings then died in 1855.
In Golden Dawn coven language these were occult sacrifices, and “1855” reads as “one occult master forever”.
As Nathan Mayer Rothschild was the financial head of the Rothschild banking dynasty, it was ‘normal’ for him to ‘die’ and then carry on mentoring his son, which led to Hitler.

Microsoft’s team of researchers is looking to transform your living room into a futuristic Star Trk-style ‘Holodeck’.
In these images, revealed by a patent application published last month, Microsoft unveiled its vision for its future game consoles – but instead of watching the action through a typical computer monitor or TV, your walls come alive with the action.
The technology will use Microsoft’s Kinect sensor – which currently lets you control games by waving your hands at the television – to map out your room and your location within it, before a range of video projectors overlay a full and immersive 3D world over your surroundings.
So, instead of turning your TV on to play computer games, your whole living room – plant pots and all – could be transformed into a full 3D world from which you can hunt aliens on a distant planet or take part in epic Westerns.
Patently Apple, which reports on innovations by Apple and its competitors, spotted the patent application this week.
The Kinect will also be able to recognise the furniture in your room, either incorporating chairs and tables directly into the game, or masking them by adapting the video output to render the items invisible.
It conjures up an image where a gamer could literally turn around in their living room to see an enemy sneaking up behind them.
The Kinect has been one of Microsoft’s runaway successes of the last few years, beginning life as an accessory for the company’s Xbox games console.
Instead of being tied to a controller, players could use their body to control the action in a myriad ways – for instance virtually pulling back a bow and arrow, or dancing as the console rated how good (or bad) you are at copying on-screen celebrities.

Richard III had eliminated the princes from the succession. However, his hold on the monarchy was not secure, and the existence of the princes would remain a threat as long as they were alive. However as the brothers’ protector (having seized the elder boy at Stony Stratford and obtained the younger as ‘protectorate’ from his mother at Westminster), and clearly having failed to ‘protect’ them, he may have wished to avoid accusations of effective blame through incompetence even if the murder had been carried out by other parties. Many modern historians though, including David Starkey,[3] and Michael Hicks,[4] or writers such as Alison Weir,[5] do regard Richard himself as the most likely culprit. Rockefellers Preside Over Creation Of Global Journalist Group To “Advance Reporting On Religion”
The Rockefeller Foundation has recently presided over the creation of a new international journalism group to “advance reporting on religion”, the AP reports.
The stated goal of the newly created International Association of Religion Journalists? In the words of the steering committee’s chair Maria-Paz Lopez: to help journalists write “with accuracy, fairness and balance” on all religious matters.
Teaming up with the Association of Religion Data Archives, the international group launched itswebsite, describing itself as “the world’s first international body of religion journalists provides editors, reporters and analysts with the tools, resources and support to promote accurate, fair and balanced reporting on religion worldwide.”
“The International Association of Religion Journalists (IARJ) was founded by leading journalists from 23 countries in six continents at a meeting at The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center in Italy. Nearly 400 journalists from more than 90 nations have been accepted into the new organization.”, the group’s website states.
Under the header “A Global Voice”, the group states that “global religion journalism comes with great responsibility.”
What excellent coincidence that the Rockefeller Foundation came along to preside over the creation of this global group, ensuring a flying start. Or is it?
In the course of many decades several arms of the Rockefeller corpus have went out of their way to somehow co-opt religion, hoping to bring the flocks towards accepting climate change as being man-made.
In their 2010 review of grants extended from 2005 to 2010, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund admits to funding so-called “non-green voices”- meaning people outside the environmental community- to sell man-made climate change doctrine to their respective communities. These voices include mayors, governors, “national security hawks”, military leaders and… evangelicals.
It seems that the Rockefellers have now added religion journalists to that list.

After discovering the smallest particle that could ever exist, the team at Cern is now considering scaling up – with a brand new collider.
The Geneva-based team which discovered the Higgs Boson this summer is now looking to the future, and are proposing a new underground accelerator with a circumference of 50miles (80kms) – three times the size of the current one under Geneva.
The collider will be used to solve a new batch of mysteries of the universe, such as how gravity interacts on a molecular level.
Any new collider is unlikely to be built until 2025, but the Cern team wish to get a head-start, concerned by the 25-year wait it took between proposing the first collider, and its completion in 2008.
The team is considering a range of options now the original $4.6billion particle collider has served its intended purpose.
Another option is to tear down the colliders in the current tunnel, which runs in a 27km (17miles) circular track around 150m underground near Lake Geneva, and build more sensitive equipment in its place.

Obama Considering Executive-Branch Action on Cybersecurity
President Barack Obama is considering executive-branch action on U.S. cybersecurity after Congress failed to pass legislation to protect national security assets, a White House aide said.
“If the Congress is not going to act on something like this, then the president wants to make sure that we’re doing everything possible,” John Brennan, Obama’s counterterrorism adviser, said today at an event at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington.
Senate Republicans last week blocked a bill backed by Obama that would have set up voluntary cybersecurity standards for operators of infrastructure such as power grids and water- treatment plants that are considered essential to national security.
Republicans, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other business groups said the voluntary standards would be a back door to government regulation of companies. The bill was sponsored by Senators Joe Lieberman, a Connecticut independent, and Susan Collins, a Maine Republican.
Brennan said opponents misrepresented the bill, which he said called for minimum performance standards. He didn’t specify what the White House is planning, or if it would take the form of an executive order.
The program, to be managed by the Department of Homeland Security, would establish cybersecurity standards that companies could voluntarily adopt to better protect banks, telecommunication networks and the U.S. power grid from electronic attacks, the officials, who have seen the draft, said on condition of anonymity because the document hasn’t been made public.
Businesses Beware: Heavy-Handed Tactics Planned for Cyber security
Businesses need to be on the alert. After the Senate’s Cybersecurity Act of 2012 failed to garner enough votes for passage, the Obama Administration and key members of Congress are now thinking about using executive action to impose cybersecurity mandates on critical infrastructure companies. Most telling is the 2012 Democratic National Platform that was released on September 4. A section devoted to cybersecurity on page 60 notes President Obama’s support for comprehensive cybersecurity legislation, but it also states that, “going forward, the President will continue to take executive actionto strengthen and update our cyber defenses.” (emphasis added)
This echoes Richard Clarke’s comments in a recent Huffington Post blog, urging the President to use his executive powers to bypass Congress and push out an Executive Order that requires government information sharing about threats, creates voluntary standards for critical infrastructure industries, beefs-up oversight of cybersecurity by regulatory agencies, and uses federal procurement as a means of forcing companies to have better security. The Hill reported yesterday that the White House is already circulating a draft Executive Order on cybersecurity among relevant federal agencies.

Researchers have shown off a ‘cyborg’ cockroach they can control remotely.
The team have been able to accurately steer it to follow complex shapes on the ground.
Now they hope to fit it with video cameras and other sensors, so it can crawl into buildings undetected, and even search earthquakes for survivors.
‘Our aim was to determine whether we could create a wireless biological interface with cockroaches, which are robust and able to infiltrate small spaces,’ says Alper Bozkurt, an assistant professor of electrical engineering at NC State and co-author of a paper on the work.
‘Ultimately, we think this will allow us to create a mobile web of smart sensors that uses cockroaches to collect and transmit information, such as finding survivors in a building that’s been destroyed by an earthquake.
The team were able to make the coackroaches walk along a blue line drawn on the floor. They now hope to investigate adding sensors and even a camera to it
‘Building small-scale robots that can perform in such uncertain, dynamic conditions is enormously difficult,’ Bozkurt says.
‘We decided to use biobotic cockroaches in place of robots, as designing robots at that scale is very challenging and cockroaches are experts at performing in such a hostile environment.’
The researchers were able to precisely steer the roaches along a curved line.
