A ‘New’ Look at What it is That Really Bumps in the Night

You cannot make out its features … you think it is your own shadow cast on the wall by a misplaced light… but as you stand still… the shadow… suddenly… moves!  

From prehistory to this day, we have been haunted by our memories, the past itself, by inklings of the future, and … by eerie stories about ghosts and dark shadows which seem to own the nightly hours.  

We have no idea where people go when they die; it’s what makes death so scary and awful. But the sense that they obviously go somewhere—that the person in front of us, situated in the time and space we share, suddenly gets transported to another realm; that their consciousness flickers, then vanishes—makes death incredibly inconvenient from any logistical standpoint.
